Film: Blood is Life

Featured in the Encouraging Blood Donation gallery.

Blood is Life shows the work of the National Blood Transfusion Board in the late 1950s. It shows men and women responding to the call to give blood and shows the process of blood donation and blood transfusion. It emphasises the importance of maintaining equipment and keeping records as well as how blood is separated into groups. The second half of the film is devoted to actively encouraging the public to donate blood.
