Working with Health Exchange

by Jenny Crane

Our partners Health Exchange have written a description of one of our recent events together, which brought together community groups to talk about how NHS services and care had changed in Birmingham over the past 70 years.  The group’s Assistant Director, Jennifer Jones Rigby, says:

Working in partnership is critical to the way we work at Health Exchange CIC because it leads to enhanced opportunities for the people who use our services.

Our partnership with the University of Warwick has been long standing and includes a range of projects from jointly presenting at the House of Commons to co-sponsoring an event on pre-diabetes. The latest joint activity has involved running a series of workshops designed to capture the genuine voice of BAME communities in Birmingham celebrating both their positive and challenging memories of the now 70 year old NHS.  We heard from those who have worked in, helped build and  used its services.

Read more about this partnership here, and footage from the day was also recently featured on Inside Out BBC West Midlands.
